In the field of design, Ecothea carries out activities in the fields of:
- Efficient and sustainable mobility
Thanks to the study on batteries, mainly lithium ion, we want to ensure that the final system is able to guarantee the greatest possible autonomy while keeping the dimensions of the batteries themselves limited and reducing the environmental impact that these systems have due to their life cycle. For this last point we are also based on an LCA study aimed at guaranteeing total emissions for the life cycle.
- Electric mobility
Design, customization and engineering of the electric or full-electric hybrid powertrain to be implemented on the starting vehicle, guaranteeing a tailor-made solution for the individual vehicles and the activities they must carry out.
In order to evaluate the performance of the systems and in collaboration of partnerships with specialized companies in the sector, Ecothea has designed and realized its own full scale HIL (Hardware in the Loop) test bench.
The design involves the study of the vehicle and its driveline simulation. In the design, particular attention is paid to the customization of the transmission and the design and creation of battery packs dedicated to the agricultural and construction vehicle sector.
In the field of electrification and the creation of hybrid vehicles, Ecothea has developed innovative and original solutions which have been the subject of some patents granted in Italy, Europe and North America. The granted patents refer in particular to:
- Electric hybrid drivelines for agricultural tractors and tractors
- Specialized motor-gearboxes for agri-construction applications
- Lithium battery pack sensor and monitoring system
